Governor Ganduje Drops Kano Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II
A statement by Assistant Governor of Media Salihu Tanko said the Kano state legislature approved the emir's removal.
Kano State Secretary of State Alhaji Usman Alhaji said the Emir of Kano has been removed for disobeying the laws of the state.
More details are coming, but before and after what has happened since day one.
Right since Monday morning, a rift broke out in the Kanon state legislature on the move by the Senate to "deal" with King Muhammadu Sanusi II.
Reports say that the crisis broke out following a request by Deputy Speaker Hamish Ibrahim Chidari that a committee set up to investigate King Sanusi II should be presented.
On March 4, the council said it had received two complaints against King Sanusi II for making statements that were not in line with Islam and culture.
The Speaker told members of the House that he had received complaints from the Kano Board of Education and Culture and a man, Muhammad Mukhtar, from Gwale Local Government Area.
But he did not elaborate on the actions of King Sanusi II, who were opposed to Kano religion and culture.
The Speaker then gave the committee a week to review and submit a report on the matter.
